Hats Off to Summer – A Celebration of GNAT-TV takes place at the Inn at Manchester Event Barn. The event is a fundraiser for GNAT-TV, a nonprofit community media center working to keep local information accessible at a time when coverage is increasingly limited. The evening will feature live music from Shermtone and The Bonfire joined by special guest Maxine Linehan, hors d’oeuvres featuring local products, a taco truck by Haystack Catering, and desserts generously donated by The Crooked Ram and pastry chef Alli Ford. The 2026 GNATTY Award for Community Impact will be presented to Shawn Harrington of the Manchester Historical Society in recognition of his dedication to preserving and sharing local history and his ongoing collaboration to bring those stories to broader audiences. In addition, there will be a silent auction and a cash bar. Attendees are encouraged to dress in casual summer cocktail attire, with hats welcomed! Tickets are $125 in advance and $150 thereafter.

The Manchester Elementary Middle School (MEMS) PTO is excited to announce the return of the annual MEMS Carnival, bringing an afternoon of fun, celebration, and community spirit to local students. Held at the Manchester Community Library, the carnival has become a beloved end-of-year tradition for MEMS students and staff. During the school day, students will attend the event with their teachers and grade-level groups, making it easy for all students to participate in the festivities. This year’s carnival will feature a wide variety of activities including a bounce house, carnival games, a dunk tank, snow cones, popcorn, glitter tattoos, a fire truck, and more.

St. James’ Episcopal Church will proudly host this year’s Norman’s Attic Fall Fest. It’s not too early for artists, craftspeople, antiques dealers, and even households to sign up for booth space to sell their wares. Food, including delicious homemade baked goods and a non-stop luncheon grill, is just one of the big draws. Others include live entertainment, tours of Vermont’s first Episcopal Church and historic cemetery, and the chance to view the wares of  60+ vendors. Vendor spaces are available for $55 before August 12, $65 from August 13 to September 13, and $75 the week of September 13. Historically, this is the weekend of town-wide tag sales. By taking a booth, you’ll be taking advantage of the steady flow of potential buyers as they roam vintage goods, handmade crafts, estate treasures, and gift items for all ages. The Arlington Community House is preparing for their annual Tag Sale! The sale raises funds for the care of this historic house which has served Arlington and the surrounding communities as a place to meet for over 75 years. Historically, the Arlington Community House has provided support for many local endeavors. By providing free meeting rooms, it still serves the community to this day. Volunteers have been collecting items for the annual tag sale and promise that there will be many interesting and unique things on offer. She isn't looking for excitement, she's looking for a quiet corner, a kind hand, and a home where she can finally exhale. Penelope is a bit of a queen bee and can struggle living with other cats. She may block her feline housemates from their food. This is easily managed with separate feeding stations. Penelope is also currently on a weight management diet, so keeping her meals consistent and separate is already part of her routine. Northshire Day School (NDS) is proud to announce the launch of its new Community Closet, a free, community-based resource designed to support families by providing access to gently used children’s clothing, shoes, and essential items. The initiative is led by LIFT, the school’s family-led committee rooted in Love, Inclusion, and Trust, and designed to strengthen connection within the school community while extending care beyond its walls. A key partner in this effort is the Manchester Community Library (MCL), which is generously hosting the donation collection point and distribution space. It offers a welcoming space where families can select what they need at no cost. The closet will include clothing in sizes newborn through 5T, along with a limited selection of youth and adult items. Donations of gently used clothing and shoes can be dropped off at the MCL, helping ensure the closet remains stocked.

This multifaceted performance will take place at the Riley Center for the Arts. The Spring Showcase serves as a premier stage for students enrolled in BBA’s curricular performing arts classes. Unlike a traditional single-discipline recital, this "tightly packed" evening offers a high-energy rotation of talent. Southern Vermont Arts Center presents  Troubleshooting: Making Photographs with Dona Ann McAdams, a major exhibition inaugurating the Van Degna Gallery. Spanning decades of McAdams’s practice, the exhibition considers photography not as an act of capture, but as something that emerges through shared presence, attention, and circumstance. The exhibition, which is on display through January 3, 2027, brings together work from New York’s downtown performance scene, including her long tenure as house photographer at Performance Space 122, alongside images connected to political organizing and protest movements. Also included are photographs from the Saratoga racetrack backstretch, where McAdams worked as a licensed hotwalker, and from farming communities in and around Sandgate, VT.
