Finding Postgraduate Opportunities

As associate director of fellowships and academic advising, Kelli Delaney MEd’07 provides students and alumni with the encouragement, resources, opportunities, and support to apply for fellowships like the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and the Watson Fellowship. On campus, she enjoys talking with students, discovering what they are interested in, and getting to know them through the application process. When she’s not helping Loggers land postgraduate opportunities, she likes to walk, garden, read, and spend time with her grandchildren.

Distinguished Professor George Tomlin and Clinical Associate Professor Kirsten Wilbur ’85, MSOT’08, who both retired in 2022, were selected to receive the American Occupational Therapy Association's Retired Educator's Commendation. The award celebrates exceptional leadership by retired occupational therapy educators who have demonstrated commitment to the advancement of the field. They will be recognized at the AOTA's National Conference in April.

Student Clubs Fly High

From Repertory Dance Group to tabletop gaming, Puget Sound has always had interesting clubs to get involved in, but did you know we once had a flying club? On the eve of World War II, the Civil Aeronautics Authority partnered with universities across the country to train civilian pilots. In the fall of 1939, Puget Sound added a flight training course to its curriculum, and those first students organized the Flying Club to practice their skills, seen here at Mueller Harkins Airport in Lakewood, Wash., on Feb. 6, 1940.
