Dear Students, Faculty, & Staff:
Early this morning, there was a shooting near a residence on West Abbott Street in Muncie. I am saddened to share with you that the young man who was shot and killed was a Ball State student.
The shooting is being investigated by the Muncie Police Department, with the assistance of the University Police Department. MPD has not yet publicly released the name of the victim.
My staff and I will provide support to the victim's family and to any student who needs our assistance.
