We make no bones about it...
Our 2018 Halloween Gala will be filled with scary good fun! Join us on Friday, October 26 from 6-10:30 pm as we raise money to support people of all ages with and without disabilities who live in Montgomery County.
We'll have an open bar, seated dinner, silent auction and more, plus live entertainment by Blue Spectrum. Tickets are $150 each and costumes are recommended but not required. Click here to purchase your tickets.
Even better, consider sponsoring our event.  Every sponsorship includes tickets plus additional benefits. Click here to learn more.
Become a "Partner in Policymaking"
If you want to learn how to become an agent of change in your community, or you know someone who does, Partners in Policymaking is an excellent way to achieve this goal. Approximately 30 future leaders across the state, consisting of self-advocates, parents, and family members of people with disabilities, will make up the 2019 Partners class.
It is important that applicants can attend each of the 10 sessions. The 2019 Partners in Policymaking schedule can be found on the application.  Applications will be accepted until October 21. Click here to apply or for more information.
This opportunity is provided by the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council in partnership with The Arc Maryland.
Dine Out & Do Good!
Lahinch Tavern and Grill will donate 10% of all lunch and dinner proceeds to The Arc Montgomery County on Tuesday, October 9.  Whether you dine in or carry-out, this is a great way to support The Arc!
Lahinch is located at 7747 Tuckermane Lane, Potomac, MD 20854. From 6-9 pm, Big Tow will be performing live music and there will be a 50/50 cash raffle. Click here to learn more.
Designate The Arc Montgomery County
Please choose The Arc Montgomery County to receive your workplace contribution through the United Way, Combined Federal Campaign or Maryland Charity Campaign.  Your support can provide nursing care for a child with special needs, work skills training for adults with developmental disabilities, and community living support services for adults and seniors who need a little extra help.
If your workplace doesn’t participate in these campaigns, please recommend The Arc Montgomery County to your friends, family and neighbors!
Celebrating DSP Week
Our Direct Support Professionals are the backbone of the services we provide to support people with and without disabilities. From September 10-16, we hosted a number of small celebrations to thank DSPs for their dedication and hard work.
Jacqueline Combs (right) was honored by the State of Maryland as a Direct Support Professional of the Year. She attended a reception with Maryland First Lady Yumi Hogan to mark the occasion. Click here for more photos.
