Today is National Coming Out Day

Every year on October 11, we celebrate National Coming Out Day. The first National Coming Out Day was celebrated on the one-year anniversary of the 1987 National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights – a date chosen to honor the bravery of LGBTQ+ individuals who decide to come out and live openly

Start out with a bang on Monday, October 17 at OutLaw's Diversity Fair where all student organizations are welcome to table and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Click here to reserve your table. On Tuesday, October 18, come meet and ask successful OutLaw Alumni questions about what got them through law school and queer advocacy. On Thursday, October 20 join OutLaw for a presentation by Tom Coleman, one of the founders of the Gay Law Students of California the progenitor organization of OutLaw. End the night at Zebulon, dancing away and celebrating 50 wonderful years. RSVP via the QR code.

October 17 | Wear Purple for Spirit Day & Tabling

Stop by the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion table at OutLaw's Diversity Fair for a purple baggie with goodies. Show support for the LGBT youth by wearing purple on Oct. 17.

Spirit Day started in 2010 and the color purple symbolizes spirit on the rainbow flag. As many as 9 out of 10 lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students have been bullied, according to the National School Climate Survey.

Celebrate OutLaw's 50th Anniversary at Zebulon

On Thursday, October 20, end the night by dancing away and celebrating your own Loyola Law School's LGBTQ+ community on their accomplishments through the years at Zebulon. Make sure to register here or using the QR code.
