Set aside a few minutes on Monday, Martin Luther King Jr., Day, to nominate a student who upholds the highest standard of service, one of the core tenets of our Code of Honor, for recognition. Nominations close January 21. Current member students of any age are eligible!

We're Seeking Course AuthorsWe are in search of authors for courses on Engaging & Mentoring students from marginalized communities for our professional development platform, NSDA Learn. This year, these courses will focus on the Black/African American and LGBT+ communities. If you or anyone you may know may be interested in writing one of these courses, please reach out to Victor Torres at victor.torres@speechanddebate.org. Authorship of the course is compensated, can be approached as an individual or a team, and will create benefits for the NSDA community for years to come!

Plan to Celebrate National Speech and Debate Education DayOn March 6, we celebrate National Speech and Debate Education Day and the life-changing skills you and thousands of other coaches have taught students through this activity. Preparations are underway for this year, and we're looking for team captains!
A parent, student, volunteer, or coach can sign up to be a captain for your school and receive our toolkit and free resources to help plan how your team will celebrate, including this poster designed by NSDA member student and 2020 poster contest winner Olivia Tsang from American Preparatory Academy in Nevada, Class of 2024.

Earning points through competition and service can provide motivation for students to keep building their skills in the face of obstacles.
