Note From the Director

Wow. I cannot stop smiling as I look back on all that has been accomplished by the leaders of this year's Change Institute.

These sublime moments have often left me wondering, "How can it get any better than this?!" Yet, it always has because of the people I am so lucky to surround myself with. If you're reading this, that includes you.

This year's success is attributable to what I learned from a former Change Institute leader, Mercy Mehzun, who told me:

"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
– African Proverb.

McGrath Scholars Supporting Local Nonprofits

The 2024 Scholars took the stage on Monday, March 25 to pitch their capstone projects to a panel of nonprofit leaders who serve the unhoused in San Francisco, including USF alumnus, Zac Clark '23. The Scholars drew on their February immersion experience with City Hope to apply IDEO's Human-Centered Design Thinking principles toward the complex challenges of nonprofits who serve the unhoused.

Change Leader Embarks for Thailand ✈️🌏

Shennel Henries '24 & MA '25 has been selected to attend the 2024 University Scholars Leadership Symposium (USLS) in Bangkok, Thailand this August to engage in a weeklong experience with leaders from across the globe learning about the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
