Making a difference in our community
|
Throughout 2022, your contributions to Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity have provided affordable homeownership and repairs to low income families. Those families, like Edna's, (pictured above) are given a rare opportunity to better their lives in ways they could not accomplish on their own. Because of the help of people like you, whole neighborhoods improve and completely transform. Through this transformation, families achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life.
More homes are on the horizon in 2022 and 2023, with construction on our new Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity neighborhood, starting soon on Clifton and William SE. In addition to new home construction, we have completed 66 repair projects since March of 2021! Repairs are vital for families and communities alike: preserving older housing stock and helping families to age in place and retain their equity to pass on to future generations.

| We are so thankful for people and groups looking to collaborate with us to break the cycle of generational poverty through affordable home ownership.
We partnered with Crossroads for Women Albuquerque for our latest Women Build project. Crossroads for Women Albuquerque is an organization that helps women who have been incarcerated. In order to qualify, the person needs to be a women recently incarcerated, have a substance use disorder, and a mental health diagnosis.
Crossroads for Women Albuquerque provides services to help these women live healthy happy lives and break the cycle of incarceration. Two women in the program, who will be receiving housing at the repair location through Crossroads for Women Albuquerque, helped with the restoration process and were very excited to give back to the program that has helped them.
"It's inspiring - Habitat for Humanity has been in the community for many years. We are thankful to partner with a group to make something so beautiful."
- Elise, Crossroads for Women Development Associate

Did you know that the Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity ReStore has been the main sponsor for not one, but TWO homes? Our most recent home in the Mesa Del Rio neighborhood is sponsored by ReStore - Habitat's resale store. Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity ReStore worked tirelessly to raise funds to ensure families in the greater Albuquerque area have affordable housing. Our ReStore isn't stopping there, however - they are setting their sights on sponsoring a third home for 2023!
Our ReStore is located at 4900 Menaul Blvd NE Albuquerque NM 87110
