Priti Joshi, professor of English and Susan Resneck Pierce Professor of Humanities and Honors, received the President's Award from the North American Victorian Studies Association (NAVSA). The award honors members who have contributed to promoting the diversity and vigor of Victorian studies research.
“As a scholar, board member, conference organizer, and mentor, [Priti Joshi] has been an outstanding contributor to NAVSA since the organization’s founding in 2002,” the organization said in a statement announcing the award. “From her groundbreaking research on Indian periodicals and seminal essays on Victorian literary culture to her generosity as a mentor of junior and mid-career colleagues, especially scholars of color and others traditionally marginalized in academic settings, her influence on the field of Victorian studies is wide-reaching and profound.”
