The Ole Miss Alumni Association will recognize School of Pharmacy graduate Lauren Lyles-Stolz (bottom row; third from left) among eight distinguished alumni receiving its highest annual awards as part of Homecoming 2023 festivities.
Lyles-Stolz, of Alexandria, Virginia, will receive the Outstanding Young Alumni Award, which honors alumni who have shown exemplary leadership throughout their first 15 years of alumni status in both their careers and dedication to Ole Miss. Currently the senior director of reimbursement, innovation and advocacy for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, Lyles-Stolz earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the School of Pharmacy in 2016. "I am proud of all that Lauren has accomplished since graduating from the School of Pharmacy," said Dean Donna Strum. "She is a hard worker and a wonderful representative for our school, and she is truly deserving of this recognition." |

Two University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and Ole Miss Athletics stand to benefit from a gift in excess of $4 million received from the estate of alumnus Francis Cerniglia of Cordova, Tennessee. Cerniglia, a 1959 pharmacy graduate and Rebel basketball fan, last visited campus in 2017.
At the time, Cerniglia said he chose to support the two entities because "the School of Pharmacy allowed me to have a successful life in my chosen field" and "since 1947, when Ole Miss won the SEC championship in John Vaught's first year as head football coach, I immediately became attached to Rebel sports and never looked back."
In 2001, Cerniglia directed the funds from his mother's estate into an endowment to reward School of Pharmacy faculty for excellence in teaching. The $3 million gift to the School of Pharmacy will be used for professorships, scholarships, faculty awards, and overall school support. |
