From handmade pajama bottoms, bingo bashes, housewarming parties and school presentations, our Washington Leisure Care Communities and the Corporate Office joined forces to support our friends at Treehouse for our 14th Annual Pajama Drive.
Our goal each year is to introduce people to what Treehouse does to support kids in foster care in Washington, and to see first-hand the work that is done behind the scenes to give every child a chance to feel equal to their peers. This year our pajama drive collected an impressive 1,321 pairs of pajamas for the kids that shop at the wearhouse. We want every child to walk into the store to find a brand new pair of pajamas to be cozy in, not only during the holidays but anytime of the year.
On pj party day, our teams come to the Treehouse Wearhouse to drop off their pajama collections, receive a personal guided tour of the store and wearhouse, and learn the process of how how donations make it into the store. We provided 80 hours of volunteer time and processed what was collected over the last six weeks. Because of our volunteers, the new pj's can be placed on the clothing racks for shoppers to take home the very next day.
