| Dear Friends of the Silverfield College,
I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the fall season. It has been a busy and rewarding semester for the Silverfield College of Education and Human Services, filled with meaningful initiatives, new partnerships and important milestones.
I am excited to announce that our college has received a $2.1 million U.S. Department of Education grant to launch a new civics education initiative. In collaboration with Duval County Public Schools and UCF’s Lou Frey Institute, this program will provide yearlong professional development for 90 civics teachers serving high-need schools across Northeast Florida.

I want to extend my congratulations and gratitude to Dr. Diane Yendol-Hoppey, Dr. Daniel Dinsmore, Dr. Eric Schoute and Dr. Wanda Lastrapes, whose dedication and hard work over the summer made this successful proposal possible. This effort represents not only an exciting achievement for our college but also a significant investment in our region’s future. You can read more about this partnership grant in the UNF Newsroom.
We also join the broader university community in acknowledging President Moez Limayem’s announcement that he is the sole finalist for the presidency at the University of South Florida. While that process continues, we are grateful for his leadership and advocacy for our college, especially his instrumental role in securing the transformational naming gift of our college. We extend our deep appreciation to him and remain committed to working with UNF leadership to advance our mission.
As we look ahead, we are excited to share our upcoming events and continued engagement with UNF students, alumni and the Jacksonville community. Through partnerships across the Bold City and programs that prepare visionary leaders, our college remains dedicated to fostering lifelong learners who serve, inspire and make a difference. Together, we are shaping the future of education and human services in meaningful ways.
Sincerely,
|
