One Job Should Be Enough!
Since early October, nearly 8,000 housekeepers and other service workers have walked off the job at Marriott hotels in Detroit, Boston, Maui, Oahu, San Diego, San Jose, San Francisco, and Oakland.
In between the chanting and the drum rolls, a pair of workers shared their thoughts on what "One Job Should Be Enough" means to them. "It means getting to spend more time with my family," said one worker with 15 years in the industry. "They want us to pay over $300 a month for health insurance, that's just too much," said another woman, holding a megaphone and echoing chants.
