   CLOSED FOR LABOR DAY   
Labor Day, observed on the first Monday of September, honors the contributions of American workers throughout history. To mark this occasion, the university will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, which means classes will not be held. Eagle Landing, Champs and Mean Greens Café will be open with adjusted Labor Day hours
Take advantage of the long weekend to relax and recharge! Classes will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Advising session
   EXPLORING MAJORS WORKSHOP   
Uncertain about your major? Advising Services is here to help! The first Exploring Majors Workshop of the semester is from 11 a.m. to noon tomorrow, Aug. 29, at Sage Hall 342. Each workshop is designed to help you find a major that aligns with your career interests.
Additional sessions will be available throughout the semester, both in person and online. Register through Navigate or contact Advising Services at untadvising@unt.edu for more information.

   BEHIND THE BADGE   
Speaking of areas of interest, if you’ve considered a career in law enforcement, the UNT Police Department is collaborating with the FBI’s Dallas office, Denton Police and other DFW agencies to present Behind the Badge, an exclusive preview of what it takes to join various police agencies.
Though geared toward women interested in joining law enforcement, anyone can attend and learn about the educational and fitness requirements for a law enforcement career, and you can engage with a panel of experienced officers who will share their insights on the benefits and challenges of the profession. This event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at Frisco Landing and will feature vendor booths, informational tables and giveaways.
Space is limited, so be sure to register early.
Boo Bash event
   VOLUNTEER AT BOO BASH   
It's not too early to think about UPC’s annual Boo Bash event, and student organizations are needed to volunteer and join the fun! From 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, the University Union Emerald and Jade Ballrooms will turn into a trick-or-treat area for children.
Earn volunteer hours by hosting a game or activity for children in the community. Bring candy or small trinkets for them to collect after playing.
UNT Alternative Breaks program group
   BREAK FOR IMPACT!   
If you want to spend your spring break making a difference, UNT’s Alternative Breaks program is for you. From March 9-15, join other students in hands-on projects focused on social issues like LGBTQIA+ rights and housing and food insecurity. It’s a chance to work directly with communities, learn about these challenges and create lasting change.
Ready to get involved? Email leadandserve@unt.edu with any questions and apply before Friday, Sept. 27. Distant trips are $300, and local experiences are $150.

Join UPC for an afternoon of fun at Bounce House Bonanza! From noon to 2 p.m. tomorrow, Aug. 29, head to the University Union South Lawn for inflatables, slides, face painting and tasty snacks available for all students.
