When the Grand Valley University Foundation (GVUF) began forming in 1963, local leaders Richard Gillett, Keith Baker and Philip Buchen had a shared goal: to build a network of philanthropic support for a young institution in Allendale.  

Over 3,200 members of Grand Valley's Winter Class of 2026 were celebrated during three Commencement ceremonies at Van Andel Arena on May 1 and 2.

This year, affiliate professor Angela Slater joined other GVSU faculty members who teach in the Bellamy Creek Program, an avenue for incarcerated students to earn a bachelor’s degree in public & nonprofit administration. 

Brian Long, director of supply chain management research at GVSU’s Seidman College of Business, said his monthly survey of the region’s purchasing managers reflected steady optimism about the West Michigan economic landscape.

Cook Carillon Tower

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and settle in for a live outdoor concert in the heart of Grand Valley's beautiful Allendale campus! Enjoy tranquil pond views and inspiring performances from touring concert artists on the 12-ton, 48-bell carillon of Cook Carillon Tower, the largest and most unique instrument on campus. Performances begin June 30 with GVSU Carillonist (1994-2020), Julianne Vanden Wyngaard, and continue through August 4. See the full list of performers.

For the second time in program history, Grand Valley State has been named NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track & Field Champion.

Moving forward, retirees will continue to receive a four-year parking permit; however, these permits are now virtual and linked to a vehicle's license plate rather than a physical sticker.

Existing stickers will continue to work in Allendale during the transition, but retirees visiting Grand Rapids campuses will need to have their license plate registered with Parking Services to access applicable parking areas. Due to these updates, retirees can park in any lot, except Devos Lot.

You may register online or visit a Parking Services office for assistance obtaining your permit. Please contact Parking Services at 616-331-7275, email parking@gvsu.edu (Allendale) or parkinggr@gvsu.edu (Grand Rapids), or visit the Parking Services website for additional information.

Going forward, retirees will access Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook email, through the web-based versions only. To check email, retirees can go directly to Outlook.com and sign in with their GVSU account.
