Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week is September 13–19.🧡Being a DSP is more than a job title. It’s dedication, strength and passion in action every day.
DSPs help people with disabilities build independence, pursue their goals, connect with their communities and live the lives they choose. During DSP Recognition Week, we’re celebrating the people whose commitment makes that possible.
Join us in celebrating our DSPs. Make a gift today in their honor and help us continue creating opportunities for people with disabilities to live, work and thrive in Montgomery County.

One More Way Support DSPs...Tell Congress! |
Every day, DSPs support people with disabilities with things many of us take for granted—everyday tasks like getting dressed, taking medication, preparing meals, and so much more.
According to The Arc of the United States, each year, about 41% of DSPs leave their jobs. Why? They aren't getting paid enough - especially against the cost of living.
The Arc is asking Congress to take a big first step in solving this workforce crisis by creating a federal Standard Occupational Classification for DSPs.
This would allow the government to gather information about the DSP workforce, such as wages, employment status, turnover, and job vacancies. This will help federal and state policymakers understand the challenges facing DSPs, so they can develop solutions to strengthen the workforce.
Contact your members of Congress and tell them what DSPs mean to you!
