INAUGURAL ELEVATEDiversity and Inclusion Career Symposium Saturday, April 28, 2018 9am–1pm | Shideler Hall, Room 152
The Center for Career Exploration and Success states: Elevate, the Diversity and Inclusion Career Symposium, was created to broaden the cultural awareness, competency and leadership knowledge of participants. As Miami University strives to be intentionally diverse and radically inclusive, Elevate will create a space to explore the essential role of a diverse and talented workforce through the lens of national business leaders. Elevate will bring our academic and business communities together to identify strategies to advance inclusion and diversity in professional spaces. Participating business partners will maximize their brand recognition as diversity and inclusion advocates. The Diversity and Inclusion Career Symposium will underscore the institutional core belief about the positive impact of diversity on learning, collaboration, and achievement. The Miami community is invited to join us on April 28, 2018 from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. to hear from thought leader and keynote speaker Dr. Tarah Trueblood, director, Center for American and World Cultures. Dr. Trueblood will speak about what it means to broaden your cultural awareness, competency and leadership knowledge about the world of work.
"I am honored to be the keynote speaker at the first Diversity and Inclusion Career Symposium at Miami University. I will be speaking about why the letters behind my name do not tell the story of who I am and how waking up as a white American has liberated me to lead a meaningful, richly diverse and fulfilling life. #LoveMyCareer." –Tarah Trueblood, JD, MA, MDiv
