Knight's Blog by Arturo Isais Perez '27, continued

Left to right, Ms. Estrella, author, Arturo Isais Perez '27, Ms. Brunning, and Ms. Marlen

Next, Ms. Estrella, Counselor, helped me build an application for the Wonderfolk Program, a Portland-based youth leadership program, with a global impact. In the program, the cohort members travel to Costa Rica and develop key skills to become  global leaders through volunteering, travel, and community service. With Ms. Estrella's support I was able to build and be part of an Inclusive Community, opening my eyes to other countries and cultures, not only with my Wonderfolk cohort, but in my community in Costa Rica as well.
Ms. Marlen ‘21, Receptionist and Attendance Secretary, reflected on her experience as a former student in relation to Faith in the Presence of God.  “Mr. Gregory taught my freshman Theology class. He always strongly acknowledged his students' beliefs and questions in his classroom, even if they were distinct from his.” Ms. Marlen recognizes his guidance to ask questions and to form a community, which strengthened the principle of  Faith in the Presence of God.
Lupe Meza Rodriguez ’27 expressed, “Ms. Argento sent me resources when I shared that I was going through personal challenges. Her support allowed me to see how she exemplified the Lasallian Principle of Respect for All Persons and showed me the importance of living by that principle and extending that same support to others.”
