Cherries this Friday!

Welcome to July! Welcome cherries and so much more!

We've been working with Torrie Warner from Beamsville since 2013 and we're looking forward to his amazing cherries and other soft fruit again this year! He uses IPM (Integrated Pest Management) to care for his trees while using fewer sprays. We know you will love them!

This week look for:

Sweet Red Cherries
Tart Cherries (added!)
Green and Blushed Gooseberries (the green ones are tart!!),
White and Purple Mulberries,
Raspberries (added)
Frozen Raspberries and Cherries,
Grape leaves for dolmas or lactofermentation
We have added small, green immature plums or apricots used to make Umeboshi
as well as more Concord Grape Juice, Montmorency Cherry Juice and Cranberry-Grape Juice - great for popsicles for the kids!

Here's a list of great things (other than cherries) to look for this week:

Amazing Ferments (in season now is asparagus, carrots and cauliflower!!!) as well as three varieties of Garlic from Garden Party
New Chocolate Mint Chip organic ice cream from Mapleton's Dairy
Shelled Peas from Winfield Produce - you can get 1 lb bags (pictured) or bulk 10 lb bags! These are picked fresh and packed in ice that morning! You can eat them like candy, or throw the bag right in the freezer for fresh peas all winter!
Garlic Scapes are available from Jonas Brubacher
Don't forget to get all the meat and cheese you need
Who wants to bake in this warm weather? - Lena Horst has fruit cobbler, loaves and more; Grainharvest makes amazing bread and buns for us!
