National Voter Registration Day
September 25, 2018
National Voter Registration Day is a nationwide, non-partisan effort to register voters on Tuesday, September 25th. This is a great opportunity for arts organizations to help ensure that their staff, board, volunteers, and the people they serve are registered to vote - an important advocacy activity.
Nonprofit VOTE, in partnership with the Nationals Association of Secretaries of State, have created a website with voting information and resources for Nebraska, including how to register to vote (in-person or online), checking your voter registration, finding your polling place, and more.  Use THIS LINK to register now!

Celebrating the Arts in Education
Our thanks to Jeff Poulin, Arts Education Manager for Americans for the Arts, for visiting Nebraska during his cross-country tour during National Arts in Education Week. Arts advocates received an update on federal activities impacting arts education, including the Every Student Succeeds Act. Thank you to Gallery 1516 for hosting this event on September 13th.
Election Center
All Nebraska candidates running for Nebraska Legislature have been provided with the opportunity to complete the NFTA Candidate Survey. Responses are posted as they arrive in the Election Center. We encourage you to be an informed voter before the November 8th election.
If you do not see your state legislative candidates' responses, please contact them and encourage them to respond. We are compiling survey responses through October 3rd in our "Arts Advocates Election Guide".
October is National Arts & Humanities Month - a coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of culture in America.
Join the celebration via social media #ShowYourArt to bring awareness about the arts events and organizations that are important to you.
BluePrint Nebraska - Next Phase
Blueprint Nebraska, a citizen-led, statewide economic development organization, is partnering with the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce in holding information-gathering sessions across the state.
These listening sessions provide an important opportunity for advocates to share the importance of the arts and arts education in contributing to your community's vitality and economy. Upcoming sessions can be found on Blueprint Nebraska's calendar.  You can also provide online input by completing their Community Survey.
