Assistant Professor of Biology Siddharth Ramakrishnan explores the neuroscience of intuition in his new book, The Neuroscience of Tarot. In a recent interview with Publishers Weekly, Ramakrishnan discusses how our brains interpret symbolic imagery, like tarot cards. He distinguishes between intuition and psychic ability, explaining that intuition arises from our own internal processes. Loggers secured their first conference win of the season, defeating Willamette University. Despite challenging field conditions, quarterback Mason Binning '25 led the offense with impressive passing and rushing performances. The defense also contributed significantly, with interceptions and strong tackling. The team is now focused on building on this momentum in their final two games of the season.

Alumnus Adam Gehrke ’98 has announced his retirement as Seattle’s go-to traffic reporter. For over 20 years, Gehrke has been the trusted voice for Seattle-Tacoma traffic updates, guiding drivers through their commutes. The Logger recently joined KNKX to revisit some of his most memorable moments on the road.

During Election Week, the university will host a number of events aimed at supporting self and community well-being while promoting civic engagement.
On Tuesday, Nov. 5, Kilworth Chapel will serve as a peaceful haven from 9 a.m.–4 p.m., offering a quiet space for spiritual reflection, meditation, or prayer. In the Rasmussen Rotunda, a labyrinth will be available for calming contemplation, allowing participants to engage in a meditative walking practice that encourages mindfulness and introspection.
To celebrate Election Day on Nov. 5, students are invited to visit the Civic Engagement Team table in Wheelock from noon–2 p.m. to receive a voting sticker and a cupcake, emphasizing the importance of exercising the right to vote. Join us for these enriching experiences and take the time to care for yourself while embracing your civic duty!
