MESSAGE FROM DEAN MITCHELL |
Greetings Future Tiger Teachers,
You’re receiving this newsletter because you’re part of something extraordinary, the Tiger Teaching Corps (TTC), a growing community of students who have chosen one of the most important and inspiring professions: teaching. This newsletter is your space to connect with one another, learn from experienced educators, and stay informed about opportunities that will enrich your journey at LSU and beyond.
Each month, we’ll feature faculty, staff, and teachers from LSU’s Teacher Preparation Programs, the University Laboratory School (ULS), and the Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool (ECELP). These are the classrooms and educators shaping the future of Louisiana education today, the same professionals who open their doors to mentor, inspire, and prepare you for success in your own future classrooms. Their stories highlight the vibrant community you’re joining and the legacy of excellence you will continue.
So, why should you care about Tiger Teaching Corps? Because this isn’t just a program, it’s a movement. TTC represents LSU’s bold commitment to advancing the teaching profession and ensuring every child in Louisiana has access to exceptional educators. Through TTC, you’ll gain mentorship, early classroom experience, professional development, and access to a network of peers and leaders dedicated to making a difference.
I’m incredibly proud of each of you for choosing to teach. Together, we are shaping the future of education in Louisiana and beyond.
With gratitude and excitement,
Roland Mitchell
