Howdy Texas A&M Foundation Friends and Family,
During the past week, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, our focus at the Texas A&M Foundation remains on building a brighter future for Texas A&M University, supporting the Aggie community and securing the well-being of our donors and friends. During this unprecedented time, we wish to share a few updates with you:
- We still want to hear from you! Without question, we remain dedicated to engaging with all of you who love Aggieland as much as we do. However, for the health and safety of our donors, friends and team members, we have canceled or postponed events through May 15, restricted employee travel and instituted a work-from-home policy until further notice. Our team members are still available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day via phone at (979) 845-8161 or email, but only a core group of essential staff remains in the Hagler Center on a day-to-day basis. We will reevaluate this decision every two weeks for the foreseeable future.
- We are carefully monitoring your gifts to Texas A&M. As global markets have reacted violently to the news of COVID-19, we are closely monitoring our endowment for Texas A&M to ensure that we are properly diversified and making smart financial decisions for the university’s future. You can read more about our strategy here.
- You can help Aggie students affected by COVID-19. A fund has been put in place to aid student members of the Aggie community who are experiencing financial difficulties as a result of COVID-19. Donations to the Texas A&M University Disaster Relief Fund will support students who are struggling to find alternative housing or face unexpected moving expenses, or those facing food insecurity or lost wages. If you would like to support Aggies as they work to complete their spring semester, you can give now. Your generosity will have an immediate impact.
During these uncertain times, I do have certainty about one thing: that Aggies will lead by example. We will approach each day with optimism and with the idea that our best days are in front of us. We need to pray for each other, for this nation and for our world. Christi and I wish you continued good health and blessings and hope to be reunited with you as soon as possible.
Thanks for all you do. Gig 'em!
