| Parks Tree Inventory 2017: Apply Today!
| |
|
Lincoln and Lents Park are both possibilities for the 2017 Parks Tree Inventory. Do you have a park you'd like to see inventoried?
| |
| 2016 marked the successful completion of the Street Tree Inventory, Portland’s volunteer based inventory of 218,602 street trees. The Tree Inventory Project continues in 2017 with the launch of the Parks Tree Inventory.
| |
|
With 144 developed parks in Portland, there is ample opportunity for Tree Teams to participate in this exciting new project! Urban Forestry invites neighborhood Tree Teams to partner with us this summer by applying to conduct a tree inventory in a neighborhood park. Applications for the 2017 season are due March 31st.
| |
|
Calling all Tree Inventory Project volunteers! Take those Street Tree Inventory skills you've honed and apply them to the Park Tree Inventory!
| |
|
Why do Tree Teams conduct a park tree inventory?
- To spread enthusiasm and awareness for trees in your neighborhood
- To learn new skills, including mobile data collection, and to collect new information including canopy height and spread using advanced instruments
- To learn more about your favorite Portland park and the trees that live there
- To aid in the management of park trees, a valuable community asset
