» Hometown Hero: Blake Shelton is the pride of Ada, OK, so it's fitting that he honored his hometown on the cover of his upcoming album, Bringing Back The Sunshine. Shelton took to the Today show last week (8/1) to break the news that his eleventh studio album will be released Sept. 30. What do the hometown folks think of the cover? Read what the locals told NBC affiliate station KTEN here.

» Tough Row To Whoa: Been to Nashville's Music Row lately? The quaint older homes housing record labels, publishing companies and studios seem to be vanishing by the week, replaced with condos and hotels. Keith Urban took notice. "The past, present and the future are all still here. But the Row is currently under threat from developers," he wrote in an op-ed in last Friday's (8/1) The Tennessean on the threat facing Nashville's famed Music Row. "Nashville has exploded as a music town, and not just country music. Musicians from all genres, all over the world are making the pilgrimage here to immerse themselves in the kind of creative center that so many other cities have lost but that Nashville still maintains. Nashville's growth is exciting, but not at the risk of losing the creative epicenter that is Music Row and that truly makes Nashville Music City." Read more here.

» Warrior Women: Kellie Pickler and Amy Grant have been named Athena Warriors by Athena bottled water. Created in 2003, the company has donated $2 million to organizations to support breast cancer awareness and research. "Breast cancer really hit close to home for me when my 'big sis,' Summer, was diagnosed at such an early age," says Pickler. "I'm happy to say she is now cancer-free. But, so many other women continue to have to fight this disease and even more may not know they need to be aware of earlier detection than previously thought. That's why I'm excited to be an Athena Warrior...I want to help raise awareness so we can find a cure."

Starting October 1, Amy Grant will release a new song, "Welcome Yourself," on iTunes with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. "Music can be a lifeline for people," says Grant. "I hope this song is helpful to many. We all know someone who has suffered from this terrible disease, and I encourage everyone to do what they can to help raise awareness and funds for research."  Get more info and watch interviews with Pickler and Grant here.

» Driving Force: Calling all teens and the parents who love them: If a low insurance rate isn't enough to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, how about a concert from The Band Perry? TBP will play two concerts for winning high schools in the State Farm-funded Celebrate My Drive campaign, which aims to promote safe driving among teens. High schools can register to win not only a concert, but one of 90 $25,000 grants and one of 10 $100,000 grants. More info here.

» Fishing Tales: When country stars aren't onstage, many of them can be found at the nearest fishing hole. Jake Owen proudly tweeted this photo of his latest catch ... but we wonder if he's seen the 50-pound sailfish Maddie & Tae's Tae Dye (second from right) caught (below). "It was a successful fishing trip!" tweeted the duo, pictured with their label's general manager Chris Stacey (l) and songwriter Drew Thompson.

» Hairdo, Hair Don't: Even Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild (l) and Kimberly Schlapman have bad hair days. When they recently posted, "Oh my holy hair mess. #Tornado?," The Voice coach Blake Shelton couldn't resist commenting on the new look of his new battle round advisers. "Idiots. Complete idiots." he tweeted.
