Lean Six Sigma scholarships will be available for the FY 21/22 year! Look for updated information on the OSI website for the application window starting in June, and attend this info session in which you will:

Learn about the scholarship and understand the application process
Learn what a Green Belt project entails and tips to come up with a project
Connect with LSS instructor Ric Van Der Linden to learn about the class format
Hear from past GB scholarship recipient

Catch the Process Palooza Express

Process Palooza is off to a flying start and continues for another few weeks. Upcoming topics focus on leaning out operations in the healthcare and non-profit sectors. Some amazing panelists from around the world are lined up and ready to share their stories! Many BECOP members also present. You never know who you’ll see on screen.

Attendees at our first couple of sessions have raved about the interactive activities. All BECOP members in particular should relish the chance to try out new collaboration tools and connect with enthusiasts from around the world. I bet you can’t wait to find out what we’ve got planned next.

Lean Six Sigma Leadership

Every leader has a role in creating a culture of Continuous Improvement. In Lean Six Sigma Leadership, learn ways to create ideal conditions for problem solver’s to thrive. Receive tools to coach and empower staff, understand how to help select Lean Six Sigma projects, and to effectively drive continuous improvement efforts.

* Training includes an LSS Yellow Belt refresher, and there are no prerequisites to begin.

When: Class sessions meet virtually on Tuesdays, 1:00- 3:00 PM, PST on June 1, 15, 29, July 13, 27, and August 10

NCCI 2021 Annual Conference

July 21-22 | Virtual

The Network for Change and Continuous Innovation (NCCI) conference is coming up! UC San Diego has an institutional account, so registrants do not need to pay for registration. Please see the steps below to create a profile and register.

To create a profile:

Go to the NCCI Account Page
Click on “Get Started” under “New Member? Forgot Your Password?"
Enter your work email and click “Continue” (This will populate a message “The e-mail address entered was not found”)
Click “Profile Setup” and enter your information, then click “Continue"
A subsequent “Contact Information” screen will have a place for to enter an Affiliated Account. Enter University of California San Diego (no hyphens or abbreviations) to get affiliated with the membership.

Once the profile is created, register for the conference:

Click Register, and select “I am registering myself only"
- Ensure the cost is $0
Include your registrant information (Job title, accessibility needs, etc.)
At the bottom of the page (under Cancellation Policy) Select “Yes, I agree” and continue through the subsequent screens

Project Management Lite Trainings

For those of you who attended Intuitive Project Management Training for Everybody (see video) hosted by BECOP in March, Project Management Lite is the full 3-hour training developed by Zach Herman and Nicole May on UC Learning Center. Contact Zach Herman, zherman@health.ucsd.edu, if you have any issues registering.

Description: Project Management Lite gives anyone the tools to manage a project today. It removes the hurdles often presented by the Project Management Body of Knowledge and provides a common-sense approach to managing projects. This methodology has been provided to Executives, Certified Project Managers, Help Desk Staff, Engineers and other job classes in the UC system and enabled an expansion of Project Management capabilities these organizations. Over 500 individuals have been trained on this method at UC San Diego Health. This session is 2 parts (two 90 minute sessions), interactive and attendees will leave with the basic knowledge and a tool kit of templates to put to use straight away. After registering for Class 1 please also register for Class 2.
