Safer Bars Research Study and Training
The University of Arizona and Arizona State University are doing a study to assess the effectiveness of Safer Bars, a sexual violence prevention program intended to change the way bar staff respond to patron safety concerns and potentially lower the amount of calls to law enforcement.
The Arizona Safer Bars Training is a free, 5-hour, two-session training program provided directly to bar staff, managers, and owners throughout Arizona, the goal of which is to reduce sexual aggression in alcohol-serving establishments. The program is endorsed by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control.
