The Passing of Former Clemson President and Trustee Phil Prince

Former Clemson University President and Trustee Philip Hunter Prince, 93, passed away on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020. Prince, who was elected a trustee by the board of trustees in 1989, was named acting president in 1994 to replace Max Lennon, who had resigned. The board later removed “acting” from his title and, in May 1995, Constantine Curris succeeded Prince as president.

His was the last class to enroll at Clemson College before the war began. Most of its members would be long gone before the day in May 1945 when they would have expected to graduate. Some, like David Clifford Eaddy, Jr. of Branchville, would never return.

Palmetto Poll Results are In

The Clemson University Palmetto Poll predicted Joe Biden to win the South Carolina Democratic primary with 35 percent* of the vote and Tom Steyer to come in second with 17 percent* of the vote. Clemson faculty announced the results at a press conference held in the Social Media Listening Center at Clemson University.
