Prepare for Commencement Weekend

Download Guidebook

Help make the most of commencement weekend by planning ahead. Guidebook allows you to customize your schedule and will be the system we utilize to communicate any important messages over the weekend.

Be Ready for the Weather

Watch the video below to plan for the ceremony. Be aware that this ceremony occurs outdoors and will take place rain or shine. In the event of rain, complimentary ponchos will be provided at the concession stands.
A livestream of the ceremony will be available for your convenience on the commencement home page. If you have elderly or infant family members, please take into consideration that it may be easiest for them to watch the livestream to avoid heat exhaustion or rainy weather. The livestream will be posted on the main commencement page once it is live.

Student Commencement Speaker

Leah Rosen will be the 2019 student commencement speaker. Hailing from Aurora, Colorado, Leah is pre-med and created her own major in illness and identity. Her speech will touch on the difference between "doing" and "being" among other themes. Read more about Leah's time at Duke in this Duke Today article
