Commuter Spawtlight: Sophie B. Zucker
The real winners during this strange time of social distancing are our pets - well, aside from some cats who got tired of everyone being home within the first hour.
My dog, Sophie Belle Zucker, is no exception.
Sophie has been working as my assistant on my telework days (or "days" as I call them now) for about seven years, since she moved into our home from a shelter in Virginia.
Maintaining a healthy work-life balance has always been important to me, as is saving time and money. That's why prior to the fiasco known as March 2020, I teleworked twice a week. I was able to save money on gas and parking, and save myself time by opting out of my hour-long commute.
Sophie worked with me part-time and now works full-time. Her commute involves moving from one sofa to another. Sophie provides moral support, babysitting services, and she mandates breaks for cuddles.
Although Sophie does not speak (yet), I would imagine that teleworking has proven beneficial for her. I can certainly tell by her insistence that she receive more pets and nose boops that her motivation and morale are much improved, boosting my mood and productivity and increasing my value to BTS.
