1. Support for the Mission

Donors gave $22.1 million in 2025–26 to create new endowed chairs and professorships, expand experiential learning programs, and support financial aid at Puget Sound.

2.  One for the Record Books

This fall, Puget Sound welcomed its largest incoming class since 2019 and announced its highest retention rate in a decade, bringing total enrollment to 1,995 students.

3.  Freedom to Learn

Washington State Attorney General Nick Brown will deliver the Fall 2026 Susan Resneck Pierce Lecture in Public Affairs and the Arts at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2.

The Pillars of Protection

Dr. Andrew Gardner, professor of sociology and anthropology, recently co-authored a peer-reviewed paper in Springer Nature. In the paper, Gardner and his co-authors conducted a comprehensive survey of Qatar's migrant workers, who make up more than 94% of the Middle Eastern country's workforce, to see how labor reforms made in the lead-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup have shaped worker welfare. By comparing survey results with historical data, the paper's authors make policy recommendations to strengthen wage protections and empower workers to know their legal rights. 

No Finish Line

Trustee Lyle Quasim ’70 was featured in a video for the Hello Puyallup series as part of the Unity Spark Project. In the interview, Quasim talks about his 46 years living in the Puyallup community and his lifelong commitment to faith, justice, and human connection.

"I embrace the fact that this struggle is part of a package deal," Quasim said. "You get life, and you get the ability to make a difference while you're here, and you pass it on."

It's All Happening at Puget Sound

Join us for We Ascend Together, an immersive evening celebrating Puget Sound’s future and the people who shape it. Step inside the Tennis Pavilion for an evening of stories, performances, and experiences that bring our shared vision to life. Discover the people, ideas, and generosity moving Puget Sound forward, and celebrate what we can accomplish when we rise together. Food and drinks available; business casual attire encouraged.

Logger Pre-Game BBQ and Logger Football vs. George Fox
Saturday, Oct. 24 | BBQ at 11:30 a.m., game starts at 1 p.m. | Event Lawn Tent and Baker Stadium

Enjoy food, fun, yard games, and a festive pep‑rally atmosphere featuring entertainment, face painting, poster making, and temporary Logger tattoos. Then, cheer on the Logger Football team to victory from the stands or the beer garden. See website for ticket information.

16th Annual Logger 5K
Sunday, Oct. 25 | Check in at 8 a.m., race starts at 9 a.m. | Wheelock Student Center

Join fellow Loggers, students, campus members, and the community on this fun run through campus. Remember to wear maroon and white to show your Logger spirit! All pre-registered participants will receive a commemorative Logger 5K shirt.

Triple Threat

The Logger Women's Soccer team secured a 3–1 win over Whitman at Baker Stadium last week, powered by a dominant offense and a pair of set-piece goals. With the win, the Loggers continue their 8–0 conference record and remain at the top of the Northwest Conference standings.
