The ethnographic research of Jack Leal '26 on St. John, Wash., was published in the Journal of Northwest Anthropology. This is the second time a Puget Sound undergraduate has contributed to the Ethnographic Survey of Rural Cascadia (ERSC).

She arrives at Puget Sound from the University of Washington Tacoma, where she served as associate dean of university libraries. Downey brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles at the University of Redlands, Reed College, and the University of North Texas. She's passionate about creating a dynamic and inclusive library environment that empowers student success and fosters community engagement.

Recent graduate Lauren Moseman '23 works at Washington Conservation Corps, where her team tackles environmental justice by restoring green spaces in South King County. These areas face environmental burdens and lack resources for proper care. The crew works to remove invasive plants and plant native species, allowing native wildlife to thrive and creating healthier ecosystems for residents.

The Logger Women's Crew team is headed to the NCAA Division III Rowing Championships, happening May 31-June 1 in Bethel, Ohio. The Loggers' last appearance in the NCAA Championship was in 2015. Puget Sound's highest place finish at nationals was in 2003 when the team finished second.
