❄ Winter Weather Reminders and Updates ❄

Mayor Bud Starker Shoveling Snow

Speaking of Snow Shoveling...

The City of Wheat Ridge is exploring the development of a Snow Buddies program to assist people in our city who need assistance with snow removal from their home sidewalks and driveways! This survey will measure interest on both sides of the initiative (helpers and those who request help) to inform the next steps of developing this exciting, helpful project.

Plow Truck Plowing Snow

Track the Plow Trucks in Wheat Ridge

Wheat Ridge Public Works is launching a new tool this winter to help people get to and from their homes more safely. Using a new web application, users will be provided with real-time information on plowed roads during and after a snow event. This tool will keep people informed on snowplow driver progress via the web portal in real-time, allowing them to see a map of the nearby plow routes which have been recently cleared or not. It will also allow people to input a specific address using a Google Maps interface to see the work done in that specific area. Best of all, people can access the map from either a desktop or a smartphone which is essential for those who are already traveling. City staff will be able to respond to snow events more efficiently through in-cab digital maps and plow deployment to problem areas.
Stay tuned to the city's website for more information coming soon!

Wadsworth Improvement Project Update

"I recently walked the Wadsworth Improvements work zone with the project team and city council. It was an excellent opportunity to ask questions, share concerns and hear right from the contractor about the challenges they navigate above and below ground every day." - Mayor Starker

The intersection of Wadsworth and 44th Avenue is looking much different these days. As sections of concrete are complete, more of the intersection will open to traffic.

Major activity continues on northbound Wadsworth between 35th and 41st Avenues where a new sanitary sewer pipeline was recently placed. A water line will be installed next, followed by the storm sewer system. Underground utility work may impact how access is configured so drivers are asked to follow signs, traffic control devices and crew instructions when flaggers are present.

Subscribe to receive traffic alerts on the city's website and find updates on What's Up Wheat Ridge. Any community concerns may be directed to the project hotline at 303-390-0878 or email the project team at WadsworthProject@ci.wheatridge.co.us. Watch our video about the latest Wadsworth news

What's on the November Ballot?

In this year’s election, Wheat Ridge voters will be asked to extend the existing .5 cent sales tax. If approved, the .5 cent sales tax would fund projects like filling sidewalk gaps, bike lanes, road improvements, and drainage and floodplain infrastructure improvements.
