The Experiential Learning Studio (ELS), a new NYU Shanghai initiative that advances the scholarship and practice of experiential education in higher education in China. The gathering served not only as a space for reflecting on personal teaching practices, but also as a platform for shaping the future of experiential education within China’s evolving higher education landscape.
• On November 20,
GHEC hosted a
lecture on Beijing’s evolving strategies in the 1950s for settling the “Taiwan Question,” delivered by Shen Zhihua, Distinguished Professor of History at ECNU. Professor
Chen Zhihong moderated the session, and Professor
Chen Jian served as interpreter and commentator. With the support of extensive archival research, Professor Shen explained why and how Beijing leaders’ approaches toward reunification between mainland and Taiwan shifted from use of force to “Taiwan’s peaceful liberation.” The event was attended by over 100 community members.

roundtable co-hosted by
Interactive Media and Business and the
Center for Global Asia on Wednesday, five NYU and NYU Shanghai alumni and students reflected on their career paths in China. Moderated by IMB Assistant Professor
