World Schools Debate Webinar » Don’t miss Thursday’s World Schools Debate Webbernar: Debating Mechanisms at 7:00 p.m. CT. Through June 8, world renowned coach Mark Webber will continue his weekly webinar series on all things World Schools Debate. Don’t forget, live webinars are FREE for all members! Resource Package subscribers can watch recorded webinars from their dashboard at any time, so you can go back and watch his five previous webinars, too!
Nationals Topics » Topics for the National Tournament, including the prepared motions for World Schools Debate, are posted on our website. National Tournament Coach Clinics » The Coach Clinics at the National Tournament offer learning opportunities for new and veteran coaches alike. Take a look at our list of sessions available in Salt Lake City and prepare to network, share tips, and grow your program. Visit www.speechanddebate.org/coachclinics for details!
New Coach Newsletter » Each evening at Nationals, we will send a newsletter to all new coaches with helpful tips and reminders for navigating the tournament week. If you are not a new coach, but are interested in receiving these updates, click here to sign up!
Social Media » Be on the lookout for our Social Squad throughout the tournament. They will be around the venues collecting quotes, pictures, and video for our social media and promotional materials. We can’t wait to hear how speech and debate has impacted your life! #SparkLeaders
GENERAL REMINDERS
National Tournament Status » High school coaches, please check your status tab on the Salt Lake City banner of your School Profile page in the Points Application. If your entry is not marked "Paid and Complete," please contact us at info@speechanddebate.org as soon as possible to avoid long lines during tournament registration!
Supps and Cons » Coaches, if you have recently added or dropped supplemental and/or consolation events, please double-check the fees page on your School Profile page for accuracy.
Judge Obligations » All judges must be available for rounds Monday through Thursday, including main event AND supplemental / consolation rounds. Please be sure to tell your judges that they may be judging a variety of events at Nationals and to prepare accordingly. Links to our competition events guides and other helpful resources are available on the judge training page of our website.
Judge Bonds » Please keep in mind that if all judges from a school complete all judging assignments to which they were assigned, the $200 judge bond will be returned at the end of the tournament in the form of a check to the school or issued as a school credit at checkout. Judge bonds will not be returned in cash.
On-Site Food Options » Lunches and other concession items will be available for purchase at all competition venues throughout the week to keep students fueled up for competition. Come hungry!
Transportation Reminder » There is no transportation provided between hotels and competition venues. All competitors and coaches are responsible for meeting their own transportation needs throughout the tournament.
First Time Coach and New School Reception » Calling all new coaches! You are invited to a reception from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 12, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Meeting Room 251 (second level).
