Honoring our veterans
The University of Tulsa is profoundly grateful for all those who have served our country in the armed forces during both war and peacetime. To mark Veterans Day this year, we invited five members of our TU family to record short videos, during which they discussed their military service and what the day means to them.

Drilling deep
From working as a roustabout to designing solar panels to pump water, participants in the McDougall School of Petroleum Engineering externship program gain invaluable skills and industry connections. "I learned so many useful things and developed a better grasp of what life as a petroleum engineer could entail," said Ryan McGregor, a junior who spent the past summer operating multiphase research facilities as part of the Fluid Flow Projects at TU's North Campus.

Gentlemen scholars
A highlight of this year's Oklahoma Bar Association annual meeting was the presentation today of awards to three outstanding TU College of Law students: Matthew Cecconi, Trevion Freeman and Matthew Woolslayer. These future legal eagles were honored for, in the words of Interim Dean Elizabeth McCormick, their "commitment to excellence in scholarship and professionalism that is the trademark of TU Law students and alumni."

Be gone, damp and filthy!
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has awarded nearly $1 million to support the development of a mold classification tool. Richard J. Shaughnessy, director of TU's Indoor Air Program, is the principal investigator in this quest to "identify and control a key residential hazard." TU is the only university in the state to receive funding under HUD's program.
