Ball State University is closely monitoring the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). We are committed to keeping the campus community safe.
If you have traveled to, have been in close contact with people who have arrived from countries with sustained (ongoing) transmission of COVID-19, or are known to have COVID-19, you are required to take action even if you are not showing symptoms of COVID-19. The following action steps are consistent with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.
1. Stay home for 14 days from the time you left an area with widespread, ongoing community spread of COVID-19 (Level 3 Travel Health Notice countries) or last had close contact with a person known to have COVID-19.
Contact your supervisor and discuss your work situation before returning to work.
Take your temperature with a thermometer two times a day and monitor for fever. Document your temperature every time you take it.
Watch for cough or trouble breathing.
3. Practice social distancing.
Stay home and avoid contact with others.
Do not go to work or school for this 14-day period.
Do not take public transportation, campus shuttle buses, taxis, or ride-shares.
Avoid crowded places (such as shopping centers and movie theaters) and limit your activities in public.
Keep your distance from others (about 6 feet, or 2 meters).
What To Do If You Get Sick
Seek medical care. Call ahead before you go to a doctor’s office or emergency room. Or consider using LiveHealth Online, where you can be seen by a board-certified doctor online, who can send prescriptions to the pharmacy of your choice. A visit typically costs $59 if you’ve not yet met your medical deductible.
Tell your doctor about your recent travel and your symptoms.
