(SACRAMENTO, CA) - In partnership with the South Sacramento CHP Area and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Activities League, Cal Expo is hosting a high school senior “swag bag giveaway” on the Cal Expo grounds to honor local high school students who may not have had the opportunity to celebrate their senior year in traditional ways. Participating seniors will be given an event t-shirt, a grab bag, and will be provided with lunch.
The giveaway will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. for 9 area high schools served by our CHP and Sacramento Sheriff’s Office. The Drive-thru is at Cal Expo Lot B and will be fully compliant with social distancing guidelines issued by the Sacramento County Department of Public Health. All participants have been pre-registered and must present registration information at the event.
“Cal Expo is happy to help do our part to honor the excellent work of our local high school students who may not have had the opportunity to celebrate their senior year in traditional ways. We support the efforts of the CHP and Sheriff’s Activities League and hope this drive-thru will help our graduating seniors feel appreciated and that this activity provides them with some fond memories in what’s otherwise been a trying year.” Says, Rick Pickering, CEO and General Manager, California Exposition & State Fair.
Senior high students and their families must adhere to the following rules:
- All seniors and families must remain in their vehicles
- If there are more than two seniors in one car, we ask that they wear masks
- Seniors must bring their certificate and student ID on the day of the event to participate
