Major Changes Are Coming to Windward Parkway and Highway 9 |
Recently, the True North 400 Board adopted the strategic master plan for the Windward Parkway and Highway 9 corridors. The 4.6-square mile plan area encompasses the homes of thousands of residents, restaurants, retail establishments and some of the top employers in the state.
The plan identifies potential investments in mobility, transportation, green space and placemaking to improve the area's quality of life and economic competitiveness. Two community meetings, four meetings with a core group of community leaders and one online survey helped identify four big ideas on how the study area can take steps toward a well-positioned and vibrant future.

Did You See True North 400 in Georgia Trend Magazine? |
If you read the most recent issue of Georgia Trend, you might have noticed a great article featuring True North 400, other local CIDs and the Transform 285/400 improvement project.
Essential to the development to the area, this long-standing project includes 10.5 miles of improved highway, 12 miles of collector-distributor lanes, eight fewer merge conflict areas within the interchange, the widening of two roads and the creation of two new bridges.
As Brandon Beach stated, “I’m a firm believer that there is a direct correlation between infrastructure development and job creation. Our goal is to do everything we can to improve infrastructure in this area, so it is an attractive place for companies to do business and employees to live.”

Congratulations to Brandon Beach and Russell McMurry |
Our executive director, Brandon Beach, and the Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner, Russell McMurry, were recently named two of Georgia's 2024 Most Influential Georgians by James Magazine.
Brandon was honored for his work as a state senator and for the monumental improvements he’s made to the Fulton County area as the head of True North 400. As the Commissioner of GDOT, Russell McMurry was featured as Georgian of the Year for 2024. A well-deserved honor, True North 400 has worked with Commissioner McMurry on several projects throughout the years and we are extremely proud to see him receive the recognition he deserves.
As the commissioner stated, “We are all in this together. The pure complexity of project delivery is mindboggling; therefore, it’s critical that we work closely with our partners.”
