Tardigrades under a microscope
   SMALL BUT MIGHTY   
UNT researchers and colleagues from around the globe are making new discoveries in biodiversity in one of the world’s most remote ecosystems. During research trips to the rainforests of southern Chile, wildlife ecology professor Dr. Jaime Jiménez and a team of grad students discovered both known and new species of tardigrades – tiny, tough creatures also called “water bears.”

   UNION ART GALLERY PROPOSALS   
The Union Art Gallery is now accepting solo and small group proposals for its Fall 2025 exhibitions. If you’re a visual artist interested in showcasing your work, review the theme for the semester and submit your proposal by Thursday, July 31. Submissions must reflect at least one component of the theme.

Saturday, June 14, is Flag Day, commemorating the day in 1777 when the Continental Congress adopted the first official design of the United States flag, featuring 13 stars and 13 stripes to represent the original colonies.

For those unfamiliar: The center offers preschool programming for children ages 3 to 5, and it's also a research and training site for university students pursuing careers in education.
