Dear Cub Family,
With the start of school quickly approaching, my listening and learning is becoming more directed toward our own community.
Students of all ages have begun arriving on our campus for a variety of summer academic, and athletic camps. I am very much enjoying having an opportunity to interact with our most important constituents and to learn from them about what makes U-High great.
Two additional important meetings were held this week. On Monday, members of our administrative team, school communications team, and the chairpersons of our Diversity & Inclusion Campus Climate and Communications subcommittee heard the overarching results from the Johns Hopkins University School Culture 360° Survey that was administered at ULS in the spring of this year. I am pleased to report that the overall survey completion rate was more than 80 percent. This level of input from our community more than ensures that the resulting data provides a strong base from which we can grow and improve. You can expect a report on the survey, along with a plan of action, this fall.
Yesterday, I met with and heard from the chairpersons of each of our Diversity & Inclusion Working Group subcommittees on their collective, important, and impressive body of work. Now that the introductions are complete, I will meet with each of these subcommittees individually to dive deep into their accomplishments and plans moving forward. Additionally, I made the decision to elevate the Diversity & Inclusion Working Group to the Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Committee and have charged the chairpersons and members to continue, and even broaden their efforts, to ensure ULS is a place where all of our students and community members can thrive.
Thank you to the ever-increasing number (87) of community members who have completed the Director's Plan Feedback Form and the additional 359 who have begun a submission.The information I am gathering has been tremendously valuable, so please hit submit! I am ready to hear from you.
