Living Well Luncheon Raises a Record $147,000!
Last month we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our signature Living Well Luncheon event, hosted by the Board of Advisors. We had record-breaking attendance, raising more than $147,000! Event proceeds will support our A.G. Rhodes Music Therapy program and the Margaret Boyd Perdue Fund of the A.G. Rhodes Endowment. Funds will be used for the wellbeing of our elders and to strengthen A.G. Rhodes, both now and into the future.

Making History
A.G. Rhodes Atlanta resident Annie Moore was recently honored at a Women's History Month event which celebrated the remarkable achievements of women trailblazers. The event, "Because of Her, We Are BETTER, STRONGER, WISER," was presented by The Stewart Foundation and held at the Auburn Avenue Research Library. She was also presented with a proclamation by the Atlanta City Council to celebrate her remarkable career and contributions.
A Spelman graduate, Ms. Moore became one of the first African Americans to study at the Traphagen School of Fashion, the New York Fashion Academy, and Paris' École Guerre Lavigna. After leaving school, Ms. Moore worked on costumes for Broadway productions and had her work featured in Vogue and Jet. She also had a portion of her clothing collection on display at the Atlanta History Center. At 105-years-old, Ms. Moore is the oldest living Spelman alumnae.

Employee Spotlight:
Carlene Brooks, CNA, A.G. Rhodes Cobb
At 13 years old, Carlene Brooks knew what she wanted to do when she grew up.

“I used to take care of my grandma in Jamaica. I would go to school and run home just to help take care of her until she passed away, and that pushed me forward to being in the nursing field.”
