Latinx Heritage Month Celebration and Paletas with the President |
IVC hosted a Latinx Heritage Month Celebration on September 17 bringing students, faculty, and staff together to honor Latinx history, culture, and contributions. The event featured a dance lesson led by Cielo Dance Events, a marketplace showcasing local Latinx vendors, and a variety of delicious food. Continuing the monthlong celebration, Dr. Hernandez hosted Paletas with the President on September 25.

Claiming Our Californias with Lee Herrick |
IVC’s ELEVATE AAPI program celebrated its 10-year anniversary as an AANAPISI-serving institution by hosting California Poet Laureate Lee Herrick as the capstone speaker for AANAPISI Week. His acclaimed project Our California has inspired diverse voices across the state to celebrate their communities, and this event continued that tradition by featuring poetry from IVC students and Orange County Poet Laureate Gustavo Hernandez.

Walk of Hope Brings Community Together |
IVC’s annual Walk of Hope on September 23 brought students, faculty, and staff together for a one-mile campus loop, lunch from TK Burgers, and mental health resources. Study Finds Irvine Valley College has $738.4 Million Economic Impact in Orange County |
A new Economic Impact Study confirms IVC's powerful role as an economic driver in Orange County. In Fiscal Year 2023–24, IVC contributed $738.4 million to the local economy—supporting 6,983 jobs. Students see strong returns, gaining $3.50 in lifetime earnings for every dollar invested. The study underscores IVC’s vital role in building futures, fueling regional growth, and strengthening California’s economy.

Women's Volleyball Team Holds on for Win Against Riverside |
After winning the first two sets at Riverside in an Orange Empire Conference match on September 24, the Irvine Valley women's volleyball team looked to be in complete control. But it ended up being a long night and match for the Lasers. Irvine Valley pulled out the win, but it took a while. IVC and Riverside went five sets with the Lasers finally winning, 25-23, 25-18, 25-27, 23-25, 15-13. Read More About Women's Volleyball Win »
