NASHVILLE, TN – October 6, 2020 – Author, priest and social enterprise entrepreneur Becca Stevens introduces her latest book, “Find Your Way” – an inspiring collection of wisdom, reflections and prayers from thought leaders, survivors and advocates from around the world. Compiled from Stevens’ personal experience as a survivor of sexual abuse and trauma, along with her work with other women survivors as founder of the nonprofit Thistle Farms, “Find Your Way” is an invitation to become hosts in the work of healing and justice.
“Find Your Way” is available through Thistle Farms, a community dedicated to healing, and employing survivors of trafficking, prostitution and addiction. Proceeds from the book will be used to fund new and existing sister communities of Thistle Farms.
“Find Your Way” outlines twenty of the practices that Stevens’ uses for weekly reflections inside the Thistle Farms “circle”– a community gathering of support in which survivors share stories from the heart. The practices included in the book encompass such topics as: Come Together, Find Your Place, Forgive and Feel Freedom, Laugh at Yourself, Consider the Thistle, Lose Gracefully, Pray for Courage, Reach Back and more.
“Now more than ever, people are looking to ‘find their way,’" says Stevens. "This working journal opens the door to self exploration and meditation as you connect with those doing the active work of healing. My hope is that by using these practices from a 21st-century community of survivors, you can learn how the premise of ‘love heals’ can help you live your most intentional life.”
“Find Your Way” marks Becca’s eleventh book, following such titles as “Love Heals,” “The Way of Tea & Justice,” “Funeral for a Stranger” and “Sanctuary.” She’s currently working on her next book with Harper Horizon, scheduled for release in 2021. Stevens founded Thistle Farms in 1997 with a single home for survivors of trafficking, and addiction. Twenty three years later, it is a global movement for women’s freedom. Today the Nashville flagship includes a residential program that serves as a national model for women’s recovery, and three justice social enterprises that provided $2 million in income to survivors, and $4 million in earned income to Thistle Farms, last year. Stevens also developed the Thistle National Network to provide tools, workshops, and conferences to support young organizations wanting to follow its holistic model of recovery, as well as Thistle Farms Global Shared Trade, which supports 1,400 artisan survivors in 20 countries.
