Jimmy LaFave was an American singer-songwriter on the cutting edge of a unique sound that was grounded in the landscapes of Oklahoma and Texas, named "Red Dirt Music," a mix of rock, folk, rockabilly, and country,
LaFave moved from Oklahoma to Austin and soon a grass roots demand lead to critical acclaim for his music and he took his sound touring worldwide. LaFave appeared on the prestigious Austin City Limits, was Austin Music Awards’s “Best Singer–Songwriter,” twice and Kerrville Folk “Songwriter of the Year,” LaFave’s album Cimarron Manifesto was No.1 on the Americana Album Chart. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2017. Jimmy LaFave passed away in May of 2017 of spindle cell sarcoma.
