The Clemson Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a "Tigertown Throwdown" pickleball tournament fundraiser at Clemson University's Duckworth Family Tennis Facility on August 1-3. Registration closes July 29 and Clemson faculty and staff can use the code GOTIGERS for $5 off until July 11.

Last year, Clemson contributed $250,000 in a partnership with the city of Clemson to add eight new pickleball courts in Nettles Park. While the NCAA does not yet sanction pickleball as a varsity sport, Clemson has a growing club program of more than 1,000 members.

Clemson University recently celebrated the 90th anniversary of the Clemson University Foundation (CUF). Held at the Nieri Family Alumni and Visitors Center, the evening brought together past and present CUF board members and University leaders to honor the Foundation’s legacy and reaffirm its commitment to elevating Clemson’s future.

For 20 years, the Creative Inquiry (CI) program has allowed tens of thousands of students the opportunity to work alongside faculty in conducting research and solving problems. The latest issue of Clemson World shines a light on a few of the CI projects across the colleges and how the program provides a unique combination of experiential learning and cross-disciplinary interactions.

The Clemson University Research Foundation (CURF) is hosting a workshop on July 16 for graduate students interested in commercializing their research. Attendees can talk with staff and learn how they can play a part in translating their research efforts from the lab to the real world.
