From the Camp Director,
Once again we are enjoying the beauty of God’s creation all around us as the transition is made from Summer to Fall, and then from Fall to Winter.

We live in such a beautiful part of the country as the Autumn leaves fill the trees with brilliant colors. Then, as the weather gets even cooler and the winds pick up, those same beautiful leaves fall as the trees are left to face the winter “alone”.

I don’t know about you, but this truly is one of my favorite times of the year as the temperatures are more pleasant and invigorating. Yet, we know what is “around the corner”! Winter is coming. (We had snow yesterday!) So, winter is coming fast!

As I watch, I also notice the scurrying of the squirrels as they frantically search for chestnuts that have fallen to the ground. It’s amazing to me that God has built such a sense of preparation into the animals that even they recognize the value of being ready for upcoming needs.

To all of our Hanging Rock supporters let me assure you, and remind you that God knows our needs, yet it is still important for us to do our part in making sure we are obedient and prepare for the future. Yet, in all that preparation God has made it clear that we are to put Him first in all we do. Matthew 6:33; “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Thank you so much for continuing to remain faithful in supporting Hanging Rock. We continue to thank God for generous supporters like you who simply give because it reflects the nature of God who gave His son Jesus Christ, and Jesus who gave His life for us!

New Maintance Director,

We are very excited to announce that Ben Hannum has been hired by the Board of Directors to serve as the Maintenance Director of Hanging Rock.

Ben is excited to be the new Maintenance Director at Hanging Rock! Ben and his wife, Holly, have been married for seventeen years. They have four awesome kids: Elijah (14), Abby (12), Micah (10) and Lydia (8).

Ben has been the youth minister at State Line Christian Church, near Clinton, Indiana, for the past 13 years. Although it will be difficult to leave the ministry position at State Line, the Hannum family still plans to call SLCC their home church.

Ben served on the Camp Committee at Hanging Rock for four years. He also has served as faculty and event coordinator for thirteen years in a variety of weeks of camp. His passion is for High School Adventure Camp, which he has led for the past six years and will lead again this year.

Ben grew up attending Mahoning Valley Christian Camp and Round Lake Christian Assembly as a kid and served two years as a lifeguard/maintenance worker at Round Lake after high school. Camp is in his blood! Ben will begin full-time in January and he and his family will move to Hanging Rock at the end of May 2020 when the school year is over.

Please keep Ben & his family in your prayers during this transition.

Fundraiser Banquet

December 1, 2019

We have invited Tommy & John Thomas Oaks back for another great night of fun and inspiration. This is a fundraiser banquet to raise money for remodeling our dorm bathrooms. We will have 2 shows: 2:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. A table of 8 is $100 or individual tickets are $15.00.

We will be having a great buffet of roast beef, chicken, candied carrots, green beans, potatoes and rolls and for dessert apple & cherry cobblers. Since our theme is a campfire, when you enter the chapel for the program you will be greeted with s'mores, hot chocolate and coffee. To register for this event click the button below.

We have been blessed with an opportunity to raise money for Hanging Rock. We have a VERY generous donor willing to match up to $25,000 to help with remodeling the bathrooms. He has given us until December 15th to get the full match. We will use whatever we raise at the banquet to go toward this match but we also need individuals to help us as well.
