Join Federation partner, Bender JCC, for the Health and Harvest fair. The event will be packed with services, healthy treats, and resources to help you live your healthiest life, including flu shots, preventive healthcare screenings, Yoga and mindfulness demonstrations, food trucks offering delicious food for purchase, farmers stands selling fall fruit and veggies, artisans, chocolate tastings, and more! (This event is free and open to the public; no registration required.)

Kick off the High Holiday Season with EDCJCC's Annual Day of Awesome
Edlavitch DCJCC
Join Federation partner, EDCJCC, and their JFamily team in the EDCJCC parking lot for their annual Day of Awesome, featuring live music from children’s entertainer Auntie A, dancing, instruments, yoga, Rosh Hashanah-themed arts and crafts stations, story time featuring books about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and snacks and drinks. Note: This program is geared toward children under six, but all families are welcome. Admission: $10/family.

"The U.S. and the Holocaust" Film Premiere
Federation is proud to sponsor the WETA PBS premiere of "The U.S. and the Holocaust," a three-part, six-hour series directed by Ken Burns airing on PBS stations around the country. The film examines the tragic consequences of the indifference of the American public to the plight of European Jewry, even after the scale of the Holocaust became public knowledge.

Capital Jewish Food Festival Capital Jewish Museum
Enjoy a wide variety of foods from local restaurants while learning about DC’s Jewish culinary scene and engaging with organizations fighting for food justice and sustainability at the Capital Jewish Food Festival, hosted by Federation partner, the Capital Jewish Museum. Highlights include tasting samples, cooking demonstrations, interactive workshops, headline speaker Michael Twitty, and more. General admission tickets available through Saturday, October 8th. Ages 5 and under are free.

Hunger Action at DC Central Kitchen
EDCJCC
Join Federation partner, EDCJCC, for a morning of volunteering with DC Central Kitchen, an iconic nonprofit and social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty through job training and job creation. Volunteers will work in the professional kitchen to chop vegetables, sort fresh produce, mix salads, portion meals, and more!

Congregation Olam Tikvah's High Holiday Food Drive benefitting ECHO
Congregation Olam Tikvah
Congregation Olam Tikvah's High Holiday food drive will support Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO), which provides temporary and emergency assistance, including food, clothing, household items, transportation, and financial support to about 1,000 families every year. Drop off donations in Olam Tikvah's main lobby from now until Yom Kippur (October 4th).

Washington Hebrew Congregation
Washington Hebrew Congregation's annual High Holiday Food Drive will benefit Nourish Now and N Street Village to help those in our area struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Drop off donations before Yom Kippur (October 4th) on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM at either Washington Hebrew Congregation or WHC's Julia Bindeman Suburban Center in Potomac.
