Earlier this month, our community celebrated Yom Ha’aztmaut, Israeli Independence Day. Over the decades, you not only made an impact in Israel — you helped create a strong connection between Israel and Greater Washington.

The Jewish Federation’s Community Shlichim Program connects Israelis with our community and transforms how thousands of community members explore and deepen their relationship with Israel.

The community shlichim (emissaries) are dedicated to the Jewish people, Jewish heritage, and to Israel. They are hand-picked from different parts of Israeli society with diverse personal and professional backgrounds. Here to tell you more about this incredible program is Hagai Dagan Schlachter, Federation’s Senior Shaliach.
