| Community Impact Internships Program Applications Now Available, Due Dec. 22
The CIIP is a competitive, paid summer internship program that selects 50 JHU undergraduate students to be paired with nonprofit organizations, community organizations, and government agencies throughout Baltimore City, and offers an intensive, cohort-based learning environment. Internships focus on community-identified projects and are selected for each student based on their skills and interests, providing a unique and individualized experience. In addition to interning in the community, participants in the program attend an extensive orientation program and weekly reflection sessions with presentations to familiarize interns with Baltimore's past and present.
Interns will work 35 hours a week for eight weeks and earn a $4,000 salary. The dates for this year's program are June 4 to Aug. 4, 2018. CIIP is available to current JHU freshmen through juniors.

| Get Ready To HopOut!
Off-Campus Housing and the Second-Year Experience (SYE) Program are partnering up again this year to offer "HOPOut: Moving Off Campus" to students who are about to make the move to an off-campus property. Prior to departing campus for Winter Break, students will have been invited to a session around financial considerations when moving off-campus, as well as a meet-and-greet with commercial properties in the community. Next semester, students will have the chance to attend mixers with Campus Safety and Security, find potential roommates with other students who might be studying abroad as well as other informational opportunities to make sure they are prepared to make this move!

| Johns Hopkins Now Offers a FREE Food Alert
Launched in September of 2018, the Johns Hopkins Free Food Alert is an innovative way to reduce wasted food on the Homewood Campus and feed hungry people. The alert system was created by three Hopkins students, now alums, and commissioned by the Homewood Recycling Office after observing that the myriad catered events held on campus every semester have leftover food that is safe and edible—it's just that no one knows it is available. That was until now. Anyone with a jhu.edu email address can now subscribe to receive an email or text notification when there is an event on the Homewood campus that is ending and has leftover food. Subscribers typically have 15 minutes to get to the location and take whatever food is available. To date, the program has almost 1800 subscribers and has posted alerts for 44 events.
